Princess Leonor begins university studies in Madrid

Princess Leonor of Spain began her university studies at the Carlos III University of Madrid on September 7, 2026. The Princess of Asturias arrived at the Getafe campus to enroll in a four-year Political Science program.

Leonor adopted a casual appearance for her first day, opting for dark wide-leg jeans, a white blouse, and white sneakers rather than her previous military attire. She was received by the university rector, Ángel Arias, and academic authorities amidst significant media presence and student enthusiasm.

The university has emphasized a sense of normalcy for the Princess, noting that she will share classrooms with approximately forty other students and must adhere to standard campus regulations, including rules regarding mobile phone use in lectures.
