Princess Leonor completes military training in Murcia

Princess Leonor has completed her military training after receiving the Gran Cruz al Mérito Aeronáutico at the General Air and Space Academy in San Javier, Murcia. This decoration marks the conclusion of her training across the Army, Navy, and Air Force, making her the first Princess of Asturias to complete full military instruction in all three branches.

King Felipe VI presented the award to the Princess, who wore the official blue Air Force uniform. The ceremony also included the presentation of employment decrees to 111 new Air Force officers. The academy director, Luis Felipe González, described the Princess as an exemplary student who completed her course with great success.

Due to a period of mourning following a fatal forest fire in Los Gallardos, Almería, the Royal Family observed a somber protocol. King Felipe VI announced that the family would forgo the traditional celebratory toast and festivities to honor those affected by the tragedy.
