Princess Leonor faces privacy risks entering university life

As Princess Leonor prepares to transition from highly controlled military and academic environments to public university life, the Spanish Royal House faces new challenges regarding her privacy.

Protocol expert María José Gómez y Verdú has highlighted the risks associated with the Princess participating in student WhatsApp groups. While these digital spaces are standard for organizing academic work and social activities among students, they present a significant security and reputation risk for the heir to the throne. The primary concern is that private messages, jokes, or photos shared within these groups can be easily leaked via screenshots, making it nearly impossible to maintain the level of privacy typically afforded to the Royal Family.
