Princess Leonor of Spain targeted by stalker in US
Spanish Crown Princess Leonor, 20, was recently the target of a stalking incident while in the United States during the football World Cup. A man in his 50s was arrested at a hotel in Houston after attempting to track her location. The individual, who reportedly suffers from mental health issues and is not of Spanish origin, allegedly claimed he wanted to meet the Princess because he believed they would marry.
The investigation was handled through international security cooperation involving multiple countries. This follows previous security concerns for the Princess, including an incident where she was photographed while undergoing military training aboard the vessel Elcano.
Following the completion of her three-year military training this July, Leonor is preparing to begin a four-year degree at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid. Her studies will encompass law, economics, sociology, and international relations to prepare her for future regency duties.
