Princess Leonor reportedly begins studying Greek to honor family roots

Princess Leonor is reportedly beginning to study Classical Greek, a move seen as a way to connect with her maternal roots and her grandmother, Queen Sofía. According to reports from the German media outlet Bunte, the interest in the language developed during recent family trips to Greece, where the heir has been exploring her grandmother’s Athenian heritage.

While the Royal House has not officially confirmed these academic details, the interest in Greek follows Leonor’s extensive military training in Zaragoza, Marín, and San Javier. This linguistic pursuit complements her existing multilingual training and her upcoming academic transition.

On September 7, Leonor is scheduled to begin a degree in Political Science at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Getafe, marking her return to Madrid after three years of military education.
