Princess Leonor to begin Political Science studies in Madrid
Princess Leonor of Spain is set to begin her studies in Political Science at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, located at the Getafe campus, starting Monday, September 7. This academic transition follows three years of military training and marks a significant shift in the Spanish monarchy's tradition, as higher education becomes a central component of the heir's preparation for future leadership.
Her initial schedule includes an academic presentation for students across all four years of the Political Science degree. Following the academic sessions, the university will host welcome activities on September 8, featuring sports, language workshops, and emotional wellbeing exercises. The curriculum and campus activities also include workshops on inclusive language, sign language, and managing hate speech, reflecting the institutional values of the Crown regarding diversity and social commitment.
