Princess Madeleine discusses relationship with Chris O'Neill

In a new interview with Vogue Scandinavia, Princess Madeleine has shared details regarding her relationship with her husband, Chris O'Neill. The couple met in New York in 2010 through mutual friends, shortly after the Princess had moved to the United States to work with the World Childhood Foundation and following the end of her previous engagement to Jonas Bergström.

Madeleine noted that she was not looking for a new relationship at the time, and their connection began as a close friendship. She expressed that she felt a sense of security with O'Neill, stating, “I knew he would always take care of me.” O'Neill described her as a warm and down-to-earth person, noting that while he sensed a deeper connection early on, he allowed the relationship to develop gradually.

The couple has been married for 13 years and has three children: Princess Leonore, Prince Nicolas, and Princess Adrienne. While the family has since relocated to Stockholm, Sweden, they continue to maintain a private lifestyle despite frequent media attention.
