Princess of Wales commissions study on nature's impact on early childhood

The Princess of Wales has commissioned a new study to examine how the natural world supports the social and emotional development of babies and young children. The research will be conducted by the Centre for Early Childhood, an organization founded by the Princess.

The project aims to explore how nature, creativity, and relationships can best foster healthy development in early life. The Princess noted that in a digital age dominated by technology, spending quality time outdoors is increasingly vital for psychological and physiological well-being. She expressed hope that the findings will help society build more accessible, supportive environments for children.

The study will receive support from the Duchy of Cornwall. In a related visit, Prince William and the Princess visited the Nansledan site, a sustainable urban extension in Cornwall, to learn more about the potential of nature-based learning.
