Princess of Wales supports England rugby teams for World Cup
Catherine, Princess of Wales, has issued a personal message of support to the England men’s, women’s, and wheelchair rugby league teams ahead of the Rugby League World Cup in Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea.
In a message shared via social media, the Princess wished the players, coaches, and support staff the best of luck as they represent England on the world stage. The message was signed with a “C”, a convention used by the Palace to indicate a personal communication from the Princess.
Catherine has served as a patron of English rugby since February 2022, taking over roles previously held by Prince Harry. Her involvement covers multiple formats of the sport, including the women’s and wheelchair divisions.
The tournament begins with mixed results for the English squads: the women’s team secured a 70-6 victory against Wales, while the men’s team faced a challenging opening match against Tonga.
