Princess of Wales visits Royal Marsden to view new wellbeing centre

Catherine, Princess of Wales, visited the Royal Marsden hospital in London to see how funds raised from her Three Peaks Challenge are being utilized. The Princess, who underwent chemotherapy at the hospital in 2024, met with patients and staff to discuss the importance of holistic care.

The funds raised from her June climb of the highest peaks in England, Scotland, and Wales are supporting the Centre for Holistic Wellbeing and Recovery. This new unit focuses on integrating physical, emotional, spiritual, and social wellbeing practices alongside clinical treatment to assist patients in navigating the mental and lifestyle changes associated with cancer.

During her visit, the Princess spoke with patients receiving treatment for various conditions, including breast, head and neck cancers, and brain tumours. She emphasized the necessity of professional support for the mind-body aspects of the disease, noting that holistic treatment helps patients adjust to the lifestyle changes brought on by cancer.
