Princess Sirivannavari visits National Museum Bangkok
Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya visited the National Museum Bangkok on August 15 to pay respects to Phra Phuttha Sihing and view significant historical artifacts. During her visit, she observed traditional Thai mural paintings dating back to the reign of King Rama I.
The Princess examined various antiquities from the Srivijaya and Lopburi periods, including bronze sculptures of Avalokiteshvara and Vishnu, as well as a 1,000-year-old gilded bronze figure. She also viewed a stone carving of Ganesha from Central Java, Indonesia, which was presented to King Rama V by the Dutch government.
Additionally, the Princess attended the “Siam Pastraphon Pilai” exhibition, which showcases ancient royal textiles and ethnic fabrics. Her visit concluded with an inspection of the restoration work being conducted on the Great Victory Chariot (Phra Maha Phichai Ratcharot) and the Wechayantra Chariot.
