Princeton University faculty political donations overwhelmingly favor Democrats

A new study by Princetonians for Free Speech (PFS) reveals that Princeton University faculty political donations during the 2023-2024 election cycle were overwhelmingly directed toward Democrats.

According to the report, which analyzed Federal Election Commission filings, 98% of faculty contributions went to Democrats, while 2% went to independent candidates or affiliated groups. The study found that zero dollars were contributed to Republican candidates.

Edward Yingling, co-founder and chairman of PFS, stated that the findings demonstrate a “glaring lack of viewpoint diversity among Princeton faculty.” The group noted that this trend reflects broader ideological distributions seen at other Ivy League institutions, such as Harvard and Yale.
