Princeton Women’s Swimming Hires Lara Mitchell as Assistant Coach

Princeton University announced that Lara Mitchell has been added to the women’s swimming and diving coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2026‑2027 season. Head coach Abby Brethauer praised Mitchell’s energy, enthusiasm and experience, noting her background as a former competitive swimmer at Boston University and recent graduate‑assistant role at Ithaca College, where she helped the women’s team win Liberty League titles in 2025 and 2026.

Mitchell holds a Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Science with a concentration in Mental Performance from Ithaca, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston University, where she earned multiple academic honors and set eight school swimming records. The hire comes as Princeton’s women’s team, the 2026 Ivy League champions, prepares for upcoming dual‑meet schedules and the NCAA Championships.
