PériodeMédia launches initiative to combat menstrual poverty in Quebec

PériodeMédia, a social impact enterprise launched on October 1, is distributing free menstrual emergency kits to women across Quebec to combat menstrual poverty. Founded by entrepreneurs Alexandra Frappier and Amélie Grégoire-Bernatchez, the initiative aims to support women in various environments, including construction sites where access to facilities can be limited.

For the month of October, the company has made 2,500 kits available, with over 1,500 registrations recorded within the first week. Each kit contains five menstrual products, including a mix of tampons and sanitary pads from the Quebec brand Alea, along with partner advertisements. The founders intend to increase monthly quotas based on demand and partnership growth.
