Prishtina holds ‘March for Freedom’ to support KLA leaders
Massive demonstrations and public mobilization have taken place in Prishtina through the ‘March for Freedom’ to support former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi. The march comes ahead of a final verdict expected from the Specialized Institutions in The Hague.
Organizers and participants, including members of the ‘Freedom Has a Name’ platform, have characterized the movement as a demonstration of national solidarity, asserting the innocence of the KLA leaders. Public figures and activists have called for peaceful vigils in Prishtina’s Skanderbeg Square to await the judicial decision.
In response to the political tension, rapper Mozzik expressed his support for the KLA and the march, while also condemning online harassment and insults directed at his family following his participation. Meanwhile, legal advocates have issued open letters to the judges in The Hague, urging them to maintain professional ethics and avoid political or ideological influences in their upcoming ruling.
