Prishtina wood prices reach 70 euros per cubic meter
Wood prices in the Prishtina market have reached between 65 and 70 euros per cubic meter, causing significant concern among local citizens. Sellers justify the high costs by citing a shortage of workers and high labor expenses, noting that many refuse to work for less than 100 euros.
While some sellers claim demand remains high and prices are consistent with the previous year, residents describe the costs as unaffordable relative to current wages and high inflation. Some citizens have called for institutional support to address the rising cost of heating materials.
As an alternative, pellets are reportedly priced at approximately 380 euros per ton. According to the Kosovo Statistical Agency, the average price for 1 m³ of wood in September 2025 was 57.68 euros. Meanwhile, the Termokosi heating system began its operations on October 15.
