Pristina unveils mural honoring former KLA leaders
A new mural has been completed in Pristina dedicated to the memory of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and its leaders. Created by the artist OrangeGirl with support from the Pristina Directorate of Culture, the artwork serves as a visual narrative of war, sacrifice, and the struggle for freedom.
The mural features portraits of four former KLA leaders currently held in The Hague: Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi. The artistic elements, including red tones and soldier silhouettes, are intended to symbolize the emotional tension of the war and the transition of these figures from fighters to state-builders.
Pristina Deputy Mayor Besianë Musmurati and Director of Culture Isah Mustafa visited the site to mark the completion, stating that the city remembers the path to liberty and awaits the return of the liberators.
