Pristina Women's Business Fair Boosts Sales and Visibility
The "Gratë në Biznes" (Women in Business) fair opened on 3 August in Pristina’s Nënë Tereza Square and ran until 5 August. Organized by Kosovo’s Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MINTI) together with the Agency for Investment and Business Support (KIESA), the event showcased handmade crafts, traditional clothing, food products and other artisanal goods produced by women entrepreneurs.
Participants said the fair generated higher sales, wider promotion and new business contacts. Several sellers, such as farmer Shahe Istrefi, reported selling all of their products, while others highlighted the strong interest from refugee buyers. Entrepreneurs called for more frequent fairs, noting the event’s role in expanding their client base.
The government highlighted that women‑led businesses now number about 48 500, roughly 18 % of Kosovo’s 265 000 registered firms, and that female employment has risen from around 303 000 in 2019 to 410 000. Minister Mimoza Kusari‑Lila pledged continued support for increasing women’s participation in business and for organising additional fairs.
