Prithvi Highway traffic at Krishnabhir set to resume September 17
Regular traffic on the Prithvi Highway at Krishnabhir is expected to resume on September 17 following a landslide that completely blocked the route. Construction of a new 300-metre bypass track has entered its final phase.
Workers are currently focused on gravelling, slope cutting, and installing roadside drainage and pipes. While a small number of vehicles were permitted to pass through the site on Sunday for trial runs, authorities have clarified that the route remains closed to the general public.
Engineer Ishwar Nepal noted that approximately 40 to 50 workers and several heavy machines, including excavators and graders, are engaged at the site. The completion of the project remains dependent on favorable weather conditions and the absence of further landslides in the area.
