Prithviraj Sukumaran’s morally complex film roles spotlighted before Daayra debut

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has built a reputation for portraying characters that operate in moral grey zones across Malayalam and Hindi cinema. Notable performances include a memory‑lost police officer in the Malayalam thriller Mumbai Police, a conflicted figure in the political courtroom drama Jana Gana Mana, and the ex‑army Havildar in the action drama Ayyappanum Koshiyum, each exploring themes of justice, power and identity.

His upcoming Hindi crime thriller Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar, sees him return as a DCP entangled in a gripping conflict alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film is produced by Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios, distributed by Pen Marudhar, and is scheduled for theatrical release on 18 September 2026.
