Privacy risks rise with surveillance cameras and AI agents
Technological advancements in surveillance and artificial intelligence are raising significant privacy concerns. Experts warn that security vulnerabilities often stem from using unverified surveillance products or poor security practices, such as maintaining default passwords or failing to update software. Using non-official applications or hardware from unknown sources can further expose sensitive household data.
Similarly, the rise of AI agents—tools capable of autonomous planning and task execution like Meta’s Muse or OpenAI’s Dots—presents new risks. Unlike standard chatbots, these agents require extensive access to personal information and applications to function. This level of access can lead to unintended data exposure, such as an AI agent inadvertently revealing a user's home address during a transaction.
