Private beach clubs gain popularity in Paris

A new trend of private beach clubs is emerging in Paris, catering to affluent residents seeking a Mediterranean atmosphere within the city. Located near the Bois de Boulogne in the 16th arrondissement, venues like Foil in Paris offer an intimate setting along the Seine that mimics high-end coastal destinations such as Saint-Tropez.

These clubs provide amenities including small pools and sun loungers, with entry fees reaching approximately 50 euros for three hours. Some locations also offer specialized activities, such as e-foiling—an electric surfing sport. The increased attractiveness of the Seine, bolstered by its role during the 2024 Olympic Games, has contributed to the rise of these seasonal waterfront leisure spots.
