Harry Reid International Airport jet skids off runway during takeoff

A Dassault Falcon 50 private jet skidded off runway 1L at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas during takeoff on Sunday morning. The aircraft, which was scheduled to fly to Toronto, made contact with the airport’s perimeter fence. There were no reported injuries among the eight people on board.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground stop for the airport due to the aircraft emergency, causing significant flight delays. Approximately 330 flights were affected, with some passengers facing waits of over an hour. Runways 1L and 1R were temporarily closed for safety inspections but were reopened later the same day.

Actor and singer Donnie Wahlberg reported being on the aircraft, stating in a video that the pilots saved their lives and that the plane avoided heavy equipment before hitting the final fence. The FAA is currently investigating the cause of the incident.
