Private schools in Brazil plan widespread tuition increases for 2027

A study conducted by Meira Fernandes Contabilidade e Gestão indicates that 90% of private schools in Brazil intend to increase tuition fees for the 2027 academic year. Most of these institutions, specifically 80.66%, project price adjustments between 7% and 11%.

Several factors are driving these rising costs, including increased labor expenses due to collective bargaining agreements for teachers and staff. Additionally, 90.96% of schools report needing to invest in inclusive education following Decree 2.686/2025, which requires specialized professionals and pedagogical adaptations. Other contributing factors include investments in security, digital citizenship technology, and managing delinquency rates, as many schools face revenue delays during periods of high seasonal expenses.
