Private Sector Donors Group discusses Palestinian economic support

The Private Sector Donors Group met in Ramallah to discuss ways to support the Palestinian economy and enhance cooperation among international development partners. Chaired by National Economy Minister Mohammed Al-Amour, the meeting included representatives from the World Bank, the European Union, and various private sector institutions.

Minister Al-Amour highlighted the extreme difficulties facing the economy, citing movement restrictions, supply chain disruptions, the withholding of clearance revenues, and the widespread destruction in the Gaza Strip. He called on partners to enable national companies to deliver essential goods to Gaza and Jerusalem and to participate in the reconstruction of Gaza.

For the upcoming year, the Ministry aims to focus on the financial sustainability of private sector institutions, legislative reforms to improve the business environment, and the implementation of a new national export strategy. Melinda Good, the World Bank's Country Director, noted the economic instability caused by the loss of primary income sources and identified growth opportunities in digital services and startups.
