Privatization Administration approves sale of Dereiçi HES

The Privatization Administration has approved the sale of the Dereiçi Hydroelectric Power Plant (HES) and its associated real estate in Kars to Bülsa Enerji İnşaat Taahhüt Plastik Hayvancılık ve Sanayi Ticaret Ltd Şti for 10.5 million lira.

The sale marks a significant decrease in value compared to previous attempts. In 2024, the same company won the tender with a bid of 32.5 million lira, but the sale was canceled after the firm failed to pay the amount. Following the cancellation, the plant was re-tendered, and Bülsa Enerji secured it this time for 10.5 million lira.

Adjusting for inflation based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, the current 10.5 million lira bid represents approximately one-fifth of the purchasing power of the 32.5 million lira bid offered in 2024.
