Prix Versailles 2026 names seven world-class train stations

The Prix Versailles 2026 has announced seven new train stations recognized for outstanding architectural design, creativity, and innovation. The selection highlights projects that integrate local heritage with modern mobility to revitalize urban spaces.

Among the winners, three are located in Europe: the Lyon Part-Dieu station in France, the Colosseo – Fori Imperiali station in Rome, and the Monte Sant’Angelo station in Naples. The Colosseo – Fori Imperiali station is noted for its integration of archaeological finds, functioning as a museum-like experience that spans four levels and reaches depths of over 30 meters.

The global list of seven award-winning stations includes: • Colosseo – Fori Imperiali, Rome (Italy) • Monte Sant’Angelo, Naples (Italy) • Lyon Part-Dieu, Lyon (France) • Town Hall Station, Melbourne (Australia) • National Museum Station, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) • Western Station, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) • LAX/Metro Transit Center, Los Angeles (United States)

A ceremony will be held on December 10 at the UNESCO headquarters, where three of the selected stations will receive additional world titles for Interior or Exterior design.
