Priyanka Chaturvedi condemns Ramayana trailer's casting and visual effects

Former Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, formerly of Shiv Sena (UBT), used her X account to criticize the trailer of the upcoming Indian epic film *Ramayana*. She described the trailer as suffering from misplaced casting, sub‑par visual effects, acting, costumes and music, writing that it "hardly worth the hype".

The trailer was unveiled in early July after a pre‑launch event in Delhi called “Pratham Sankalp,” which introduced the principal cast. The event featured Ranbir Kapoor paying respects to senior actor Sunny Deol and poet Kumar Vishwas. The trailer’s public release was delayed owing to nationwide student protests demanding the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. *Ramayana* is scheduled to hit theatres on 8 November 2026.
