Priyanka Chopra reveals role details for SS Rajamouli's upcoming film Varanasi

Priyanka Chopra disclosed new details about her role in SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated film *Varanasi*, marking her return to Indian cinema after an eight‑year hiatus. She said she has been working on the project for about 14 months and described her character with a single hint: “I do so many amazing slow‑motion jumps in it.”

The epic adventure, directed by Rajamouli and written by Vijayendra Prasad, blends mythology, Indian folklore and science‑fiction elements such as time travel, and spans multiple locations including Antarctica. The ensemble cast also features Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj, with Mahesh Babu reportedly appearing as Lord Rama. Chopra requested that the film include a dance sequence, which has already been filmed. *Varanasi* is scheduled for theatrical release in April 2027.
