Priyanka Chopra talks global cinema shift and Bollywood gossip in recent interviews
At the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026, Priyanka Chopra Jonas said the film industry is moving beyond language and regional boundaries, with streaming and the COVID‑19 pandemic helping Indian movies reach worldwide audiences. She noted that subtitles, Korean dramas, and titles like "Squid Game" and "Parasite" have shown that non‑English content can resonate globally. Chopra Jonas also announced that her new production company aims to support filmmakers who lack industry connections.
In a separate interview with husband Nick Jonas, Chopra humorously addressed Bollywood gossip, acknowledging that Nick often learns about celebrity relationships before she does. She mentioned the upcoming Indian film "Varanasi," directed by S.S. Rajamouli and set for a 2027 release, starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
