Priyanka Gandhi commemorates two‑year anniversary of Kerala's deadliest landslide

On July 30, 2024 a massive landslide struck the hill hamlets of Chooralmala and Mundakkai in Kerala’s Wayanad district, killing 330 people and leaving hundreds homeless. The disaster erased entire settlements under mud, rocks and floodwaters. Two years later, survivors have begun rebuilding in a government‑run rehabilitation township, where children such as Rithu, born after her mother narrowly escaped, now play in streets that did not exist at the time of the tragedy.

Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra marked the second anniversary with a social‑media tribute, praising the bravery and resilience of the community and pledging continued support for the displaced families as they restore their lives.
