Prêmio Congresso em Foco 2026 recognizes Brazilian lawmakers

The 19th edition of the Prêmio Congresso em Foco was held in Brasília, recognizing outstanding parliamentary performance in the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies and Senate. Under the theme ‘Plural as Brazil’, the awards evaluated lawmakers through three distinct methods: popular vote, assessment by specialized journalists, and a technical jury of experts.

Among the notable winners, Senator Renan Calheiros was recognized for his work. In the Chamber of Deputies, journalists highlighted Arnaldo Jardim for his expertise in energy and agribusiness, Erika Hilton for her advocacy in human rights and labor policies, and Tabata Amaral for her focus on education and youth.

The ceremony emphasized political diversity, featuring winners from various parties, regions, and ideological spectrums. Organizations such as Ibrachina and Ibrawork supported the event, noting the importance of dialogue between the legislature and civil society to address national challenges.
