PRNigeria Fellowship trains young communicators in Nigeria

The 2026 PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship (PYCF) has concluded a two-week intensive training program for 30 Nigerian graduates across Abuja, Kano, and Ilorin. The curriculum covered public speaking, news writing, public relations, media law, ethics, and the application of artificial intelligence in journalism.

During the program, the Voice of Nigeria (VON) Director-General, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace, met with the Abuja cohort to advocate for responsible journalism. He cautioned against the amplification of negative national narratives on digital platforms, noting that such content can damage Nigeria’s image, tourism, and investment prospects. Ndace emphasized the importance of mentorship and objective reporting.

As part of the practical training, fellows visited the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) headquarters. FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed highlighted the severity of road safety in Nigeria, stating that nearly 5,000 Nigerians die annually in road crashes, with 80% of victims being under the age of 30.
