PRO and Volt to negotiate jointly with Dutch cabinet on 2027 budget

The Dutch opposition parties PRO and Volt have announced they will negotiate jointly with the minority cabinet regarding the 2027 budget. Party leaders Jesse Klaver and Laurens Dassen intend to meet with Prime Minister Rob Jetten and Finance Minister Eelco Heinen to discuss potential support for the government's financial plans.

According to the parties, their combined support would provide the minority government with a stable majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. The cabinet's new proposal reportedly focuses on three key themes: purchasing power, social security, and wealth taxation.

The government is seeking support from both left-wing and right-wing opposition parties to secure the budget. In addition to PRO and Volt, the cabinet has invited parties such as ChristenUnie, SGP, and JA21 to participate in upcoming discussions.
