PRO leader Nicolás Maggio criticizes LLA and Sáenz reelection

Nicolás Maggio, a leader of the PRO party in Salta, has criticized the La Libertad Avanza (LLA) administration, claiming that LLA officials do not represent the local population. Maggio stated that the PRO intends to increase its political presence by fielding candidates across all municipal and legislative categories to provide a new leadership alternative.

Maggio also addressed the legal controversy regarding a potential third term for Governor Gustavo Sáenz. Citing the 2021 constitutional reform that limits governors to two consecutive terms, Maggio argued that the law should prevent Sáenz from running again in 2027. While supporters of the governor argue the new rules only apply to terms starting after the reform, Maggio maintained that the final determination on the legality of a new candidacy must be made by the judiciary.
