PRO leaders state 2027 electoral agreement with La Libertad Avanza is distant

Leaders of the PRO party, Cristian Ritondo and Fernando De Andreis, stated that an electoral agreement with La Libertad Avanza for the 2027 elections remains distant. Following a fourth meeting between the two political groups at the Casa Rosada, officials emphasized that while dialogue continues through bi-weekly meetings, the focus is not currently on electoral pacts.

Internal friction within the PRO reportedly stems from La Libertad Avanza’s political strategy. Critics within the PRO have expressed dissatisfaction with how the ruling party manages alliances in districts where the PRO holds local power, citing tensions in the City of Buenos Aires and Chubut.

Despite these tensions, Ritondo noted that a relationship of respect exists between Mauricio Macri and President Javier Milei. The PRO representatives indicated they would continue to support structural reforms and political stability to prevent a return to populism, while De Andreis noted the need to accelerate economic reforms to provide greater political certainty.
