Pro-Life Across America expands billboard campaign across US
Pro-Life Across America, a Minnesota‑based nonprofit founded in 1989 by Mary Ann Kuharski, has spent nearly four decades placing pro‑life billboards along highways and in communities nationwide. The organization began with 42 simple black‑and‑white signs encouraging drivers to "listen to the heartbeat" of an unborn child and has grown to thousands of billboards that also direct viewers to pregnancy‑support resources.
Kuharski, who previously worked in political organizing, says the ministry’s goal is to change hearts rather than win elections. Her personal story—adopted from a Minnesota orphanage and mother of 13, including six special‑needs children—motivates the message that “there’s no such thing as an unwanted baby.” The current president, Angie Johnson, continues the outreach, emphasizing nonpartisan education over political debate.
