Pro-Palestine vigils and rallies held in UK and South Africa

Pro-Palestine demonstrations and vigils have taken place in both the United Kingdom and South Africa. In Sidmouth, Great Britain, approximately 50 people gathered for a silent vigil in Market Square organized by the community group Sidmouth Supports Palestine. The group announced that these silent gatherings will now occur on the first and third Saturday of every month.

In Cape Town, South Africa, a rally was held at the Sea Point Promenade featuring British journalist Yvonne Ridley and former MP George Galloway as part of their ‘South African People Power Tour’. During the event, Galloway drew comparisons between the history of apartheid in South Africa and the current situation in Palestine, while Ridley spoke on the shifting international attitudes regarding the conflict.
