Pro-Palestinian demonstrations held in Bremen and Malmö
Large-scale pro-Palestinian demonstrations took place in Bremen, Germany, and Malmö, Sweden, to highlight the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
In Bremen, the Palestinian community organized a symbolic event at the Parliament Square titled ‘Thousands of pairs of shoes... Thousands of victims.’ The demonstration used thousands of shoes to represent lives lost and featured reenactments of the suffering of children facing famine. Samer Bilal Aslan, head of the Palestinian community in Bremen, stated the event aimed to convey the human stories of victims to the German public, emphasizing that the crisis involves real families rather than just statistics.
In Malmö, a major march through the city streets involved various Swedish political parties, Palestinian and Arab associations, and solidarity groups such as Group 194. Participants carried Palestinian flags and banners condemning occupation and calling for international accountability. Speakers at the event urged the international community to uphold human rights and the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people.
