Pro-Palestinian protests held in Bergamo and Cagliari

Pro-Palestinian demonstrations have taken place in Italy in connection with the conflict in Gaza. In Bergamo, activists organized by the Rete Bergamo per la Palestina gathered to protest the presence of the Israeli football club Hapoel Tel Aviv, who were scheduled to play against Atalanta in a Conference League playoff.

Protesters displayed banners such as “Kick Zionism out” and accused UEFA of being “complicit in the ongoing genocide” for not banning Israeli clubs from competitions. The demonstration was monitored by police presence.

In Sardinia, activists held a protest at Cagliari airport as passengers departed for Tel Aviv. Demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and distributed flyers, stating they were protesting the airport's role in hosting Israeli tourists and military personnel. The protest occurred alongside separate labor tensions at the airport following the breakdown of a pre-agreement between management and unions.
