Honduras CNE and PNUD plan upcoming elections
The National Electoral Council (CNE) of Honduras and the United Nations Development Programme (PNUD) have begun joint technical planning to prepare for upcoming elections. The collaboration aims to strengthen institutional capacities and improve electoral processes to foster greater citizen trust and transparency.
During a two-day working session, the CNE Plenary and technical teams reviewed 30 electoral organization projects. The initiative focuses on establishing an electoral calendar, coordinating teams, and identifying necessary tasks to prevent lack of planning from becoming an obstacle during the various stages of the electoral process.
Electoral counselor Aixa Zelaya emphasized that early planning is essential to ensuring the elections are organized, transparent, and reliable. While specific dates for the next elections have not been announced, the joint effort seeks to address technical challenges well in advance.
