PROA police team reports arrests and drug seizures in Belgium

The PROA police team, operating within the Geraardsbergen and Lierde zones, reported significant results for the third quarter of 2026. During the period from July to September, the team conducted 46 proactive controls, resulting in seven arrests and seven house searches.

Law enforcement officers inspected 230 individuals and 87 vehicles, leading to the issuance of 83 official reports. Notable drug seizures included over 10 kilograms of speed, approximately 1.5 kilograms of cannabis, and nearly 120 grams of cocaine. Additionally, police seized eleven vehicles, thirty objects, and more than 7,300 euros in cash.

The team’s strategy focuses on actively seeking out suspicious situations, persons, and vehicles rather than solely reacting to reports. Operations were specifically concentrated in areas such as station environments, parks, and neighborhoods where nuisance reports had previously been received, aiming to improve local livability.
