Probolinggo Mango Carnival 2026 boosts local MSMEs
The inaugural Mango Carnival of Indonesia 2026 in Probolinggo, East Java, has concluded after a three-day event aimed at promoting the region's mango commodities and driving economic growth. The festival attracted approximately 21,750 visitors and generated nearly Rp1 billion in economic turnover.
Local officials, including Probolinggo Mayor Aminuddin and PKK Team Chair Evariani Aminuddin, highlighted the event's role in empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Participants from 29 sub-districts competed in mango processing competitions, showcasing innovations in culinary products, packaging, and presentation to increase the value of the local fruit.
The event serves as a strategic platform to transition Probolinggo's mangoes from local commodities to competitive products for international export markets. Authorities emphasized the need for continued support for MSMEs, including business development, marketing assistance, and access to capital, to ensure these innovations achieve long-term commercial success.
