ProChile pushes Magallanes exporters into US and India markets

ProChile held a session of the Regional Export Council for Magallanes, bringing together private‑sector representatives with Chile’s commercial attachés in the United States and India. Participants from tourism and ovine‑product firms—including Turismo Comapa, Aerovías DAP, Hotel Lago Grey, Frigorífico Simunovic, Frigorífico Patagonia, the Magallanes Livestock Association and the Torres del Paine Hotelers Guild—discussed market opportunities and challenges. Regional export director Alejandra Covacevich emphasized the council’s role in aligning public‑private efforts to build an internationalisation agenda. Sectoral workshops identified short‑ and medium‑term priorities such as training tour operators on Indian visitor preferences, enhancing promotional tools for Chilean tourism, and exploiting wool and lamb meat demand in India, especially as the country opens its wool‑export protocol.

The dialogue aimed to translate market insights into concrete actions that expand the global reach of Magallanes’ products and services.
