Procida Jazz Fest to debut with international artists and photography exhibition

The inaugural Procida Jazz Fest is set to take place on the island of Procida from September 10 to 13. The festival features twelve concerts across five locations, involving over fifty artists exploring various jazz styles and contaminations. Notable performances include the Half Century Trio Orchestra on September 10 and a performance by Turkish artist Hakan Başar on September 11.

As a preview to the festival, the exhibition ‘Fotografando Jazz’ by Francesco Truono has opened at Palazzo d’Avalos. The exhibition showcases thirty images spanning twenty years of the photographer's work with major jazz figures such as Chick Corea, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and James Brown. The exhibition will remain open until September 20.

Directed by Michele Solipano, the event is promoted by the associations New Around Midnight and Napoli Jazz Clube, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Campania Region, the Metropolitan City of Naples, and the Municipality of Procida. Local officials stated the goal is to integrate the island into the professional festival circuit and extend the tourist season through high-quality cultural events.
