Procida man returns backpack containing 3,000 euros and checks
A young man named Enrico in Procida, Italy, demonstrated significant honesty by returning a lost backpack containing approximately 3,000 euros in cash, several signed checks, credit cards, and debit cards.
After returning from a fishing trip around 9:00 AM, Enrico discovered the bag near a flowerbed while walking to his bar. He opened the bag specifically to search for identification or contact information to help locate the owner. After finding the substantial amount of money and various payment instruments, he remained in the area to wait for the owner's return.
Following unsuccessful attempts to find the owner via social media, Enrico sought assistance. The Mayor of Procida, Luigi Muroche, happened to be passing by and helped facilitate the process. Through a mutual acquaintance, they successfully obtained the owner's phone number. The bag was returned intact to the owner's sister-in-law about an hour after the discovery.
