Procon agencies in Paraná conduct digital fraud prevention workshops
Consumer protection agencies (Procon) in the Brazilian cities of Apucarana and Paranavaí have launched educational initiatives to combat digital fraud and inform citizens of their consumer rights.
In Apucarana, Procon held a lecture at the Alex Mazaron Youth Center (CEJA) targeting youth and families. The session focused on identifying common internet scams, protecting personal data, and preventing financial loss. Local officials emphasized that disseminating information is a critical tool for risk identification and prevention.
In Paranavaí, approximately 600 people attended workshops organized in partnership with the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance, Women, and Family. These sessions were held across various Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS), a youth center, and a youth guard unit, specifically targeting elderly citizens and adolescents. The program covered fraud identification, data protection, and the legal rights provided by the Consumer Defense Code.
