Procon Goiânia fines retailer for price discrepancies

Procon Goiânia has fined a commercial establishment in the Jardim Goiás neighborhood after discovering discrepancies between shelf prices and checkout totals during a routine inspection.

Specific irregularities included Pringles chips advertised at R$ 13.49 but charged at R$ 18.99, and Super Frango shredded chicken advertised at R$ 16.90 but charged at R$ 26.90. Additionally, Nestlé condensed milk was found with a discrepancy affecting approximately 400 units, where the shelf price was R$ 12.99 but the register recorded R$ 13.49.

Under the Consumer Defense Code, businesses must provide clear and accurate pricing. Consumers are entitled to the most advantageous offer when discrepancies occur. The establishment will face an administrative process following the citation.
