Procon Goiás reports high price variations for climate control products

A survey by Procon Goiás has revealed significant price fluctuations for climate control products, including air conditioners, humidifiers, and fans, amid a heatwave and low humidity in the region. In Goiânia and Anápolis, price variations for identical items were found to exceed 134%.

Specific findings include a 134.62% price difference for certain table fans and a 79% variation for 70-liter air coolers. Air conditioning units showed variations of over 42%. To ensure efficiency and comfort, experts recommend considering technical criteria such as inverter technology, which adjusts compressor speed to save energy, and proper BTU sizing based on room dimensions and solar incidence.

Procon Goiás advises consumers to compare prices, check for Inmetro certification, and test equipment in-store. For online purchases, consumers retain a seven-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Defense Code.
