Procon intensifies inspections of expired food products in Rondonópolis
Consumer protection agencies in Brazil are intensifying inspections of retail establishments to ensure product safety and regulatory compliance.
In Rondonópolis, Procon has conducted weekly inspections of food markets, resulting in the removal of various items from shelves. Officials reported finding products that had passed their expiration dates, as well as damaged packaging with holes or openings. Coordinator Rubson Guimarães has urged consumers to check expiration dates on all packaging before purchase and noted that establishments failing to comply with conservation and labeling standards will face sanctions.
Citizens are encouraged to report irregularities via telephone or WhatsApp, providing photographic or video evidence to support their claims.
